This was Chris's 45th birthday. As long as I can remember me and the kids would decorate , cook and hide...and wait for their daddy to come home on his birthday to suprise him. I only missed a couple times because of my back and I just couldn't do it. So, we treated him out to dinner instead.
You can tell by looking at me, that I am wore out and in pain before I ever really got started....but because of the little Angels I have around here, we pulled it off. Michelle took off work an hour early to help me cook and make BlueBerry Cheese Cakes. We made Chicken & Spagetti, Salad, Green Beans and had rolls and Cheese cake. Nothing real fancy, but something Chris enjoys eating. :) If she hadn't gotten off at 3.....we wouldn't have been able to make it in time, because Chris got home early. :)
There would not of been any FOOD at all if Alicia han't taken a late lunch break and went to the store for me and bought the groceries to put this meal together with. It absolutley would not have come together if she hadn't done that. I was on my last ounce of emotional strength when her sweet little voice called and asked if she could help me somehow. :) I told her how I needed to grocery shop for the FOOD. She said she did not mind at all going to get what I needed and asked me for a list. :) She took off work and went to the grocery store and then put them all in my car and went back to work. :)
Adam was my decorator....and blew up balloons..... I was almost to the point of..."we don't really have to decorate" :) But, he was here with his Supa-powers....and up those balloons and streamers went. He doesn't even have to climb up in a chair like I would of had to. :) Kristy came in from school a bit late... and I said "you gotta hurry we need the china and GoldWare and Crystal washed" she was like HUH! ha.. I said...yep, just get it down and get at it....so she washed and dried them all so we could have them to eat on. They are old....would be nice to update....but we only use them one time a year....so its all good...too much money to spend on one meal a year. :) Even though its a special one. :)
We began with our salads and rolls...and Chris is more into the GoldWare than anything else. We eat on a cheap set of silverware... hah....so he was impressed by the heavy duty Goldware....he said thats a fork! It was strong and sturdy. I was thinking.... how funny he was thinking that after all these years...... this is the same Gold ware we have eaten on fo 25 years. :) Oh well, I guess he is into finer things now. :) ha.... He may want our cheap-o silverware traded in now...who knows. :)
